says to Nicanor Land of the Wago: .. I was six foot two inches, two hundred and twenty pounds of Karian sailor. I was standing in the sands, and moved to the weapon racks, as I would take a y-slotted helm and fitted it over my head, attaching the chin strap so that it would stay upon my head. Onto my left arm, I would take up a thirty six inch gorean round shield, it was plain copper colored, along the outisde of the rim, rivetted bronze rings held it together and gave a strong ring. The shield strapped to my arm with a grip, for better control, it bore on the inside a sheath and a twenty two inch gorean short sword. The blade was twenty two inches, and the handle another eight inches, the weapon was drawable from the bottom. Onto my left hip, I would place another sword of the exact same porpotions. Into my right hand, I would lift a Gorean spear, seven feet in length, with an eighteen inch bronze leaf blade. I would hold the shaft at the mid spot, level with my waist. ..
.. I would settle myself about fifteen feet from you, my right leg swept back behind my left, shoulder width apart, my knee's slightly bent as I kept my shield to my left, not really being defensive at all. I trained the spear tip even with my waist, and my right arm brought forward holding it level, aimed just below your belly, at your waist, the center of your gravity.. "I wish you the best of luck, and a Warrior's death!" I chanted.

says to |... Lobo of Thassa ...|: I would step into the sands. I was 6 ft tall and 200 lbs. I wore the simple clothes of a plains man. Upon my head was a conical helm with a chained face guard with holes for the eyes. A helm of the wagon people. From left shoulder to right hip was a bandolier with a set of seven quiva that have bone handles and are 12" in length. In my left hand was a shield gripped in my left hand as it was a fist like grip rather than strapped to the arm like alot of the bigger shields. it was a small leather shield of the wagon people. it was 24" wide and glossy and lacquered. I was holding it a foot in front of me with my left hand over my centre chest for good torso coverage. In my right hand was the first sword I had killed with. I had used a sword when disguised as a turian. The sword was kept as a reminded and practised with as a lesson to himself. Today he decided to bring it out. It was a gorean short sword. Twenty-two inches in length from hilt tip to blade tip, the blade is doubled-edged, and leaf shaped. Narrower at the hilt base and then widening to a width of three or four inches and then descending to a curved and pointed tip. The grip is leather covered wood, with an oval cross-guard. The Gorean short sword is hand forged of light carbon steel. The leaf shaped blade is ideal for thrusting. Perfect for close combat, its point giving it excellent armour penetrating properties. I am holding the grip is a over hand position at my right hip with the blade horizontal to the ground and pointing forward so the left edge of the blade was nearly touching the right side of my shield. My right elbow was pointed behind me in the ideal thrusting position. I watched the man and I moved into the sands. I closed to 8 ft just out of your range to make it harder for you to throw the spear. I hated spears. You held the spear at mid shaft. it was seven foot long so at mid shaft that gave you 3 and a half foot and the extent of your arm at your hard that would be about 2 to 3 foot so at eight foot I was safely out of range but close enough if you was to throw it the power would not be there and I could deal with it easy enough with my shield. My feet where a shoulder with apart and knees slightly bent for balance. I was facing forward. All I had to do is play it safe and hack at your arm and keep the range. Easier said than done. " I will keep your skull to fuck" Nods and gets ready for the fight.
Stats:
Height: 6'
Weight: 200
Distance: Closed to 8'
Weapons:
Head: Y slot conical helm. Chained face guard.
Left Shoulder to right hip – bandoleer of 7 quivas. Bone handles 12” long.
Left Hand: 24” wide shield. Held center torso – 1' distance from body.
Right Hand: 22” blade leaf shaped short sword with a ton of unnecessary information. Held forward and behind the shield aimed forward to him.
Note
He holds it mid shaft. 18” of the spear is not shaft. If you take 1.5 away from 7 you end with 5.5 so approximately 33” of the spear is behind him, then you add 18” to 33” due to the leaf blade and it totals to be 51” so 4 feet 3” plus his arm. So he is still not in range bug his reach is longer than you anticipated.
Round 1:
(12:58:11 ) - clean
|... Lobo of Thassa ...| says to Nicanor Land of the Wago: I laughed at your words, as I watched you through the slot of my helm as I would begin a slight jog, moving in a circular motion around you, after opening the distance between us back to about eight feet, now fully on your left side. I would plant my left foot first, and then transfering my momentum with a right step closing directly towards you now down to six feet, using that jerking motion of my step to put extra force behind my swing, to let the spear slide forward in my right hand a bit, before my grip retook a hold of the shaft, now at the 2/3 mark of the shaft, while my right arm brought my shield up to cover the angle of my movements to cover my torso now, and hide my feint..
.. I would swing that spear tip feinting in a hard, fast right to left arc, I feinted with the angle of my shoulders to bring the leaf tip of the bronze blade up and towards your head, but pushed down with my wrist a quick adjustment to aim the sharp spear tip, against the back of your left knee..
Judge:
P1: Circle around to his left side, left foot lead to additional forward step with right for momentum. So your right side is at 6 feet from his left. 2/3rd of spear in front of your right hand, not including the leaf blade. You made a left/right error here. Your shield is held in your left hand, not your right,. It would be a deduction if not for this being OC.
P2: The forward thrust was a feint towards his head, but a drop of the spear towards the back of his knee. This would be a extreme angle with any real speed. However the attack will be easily defended.
(13:06:21 ) 10 seconds over = loss of attack.
I was expecting anything. i would not let the man circle to my left side so he would stand there. No man would. I would turn in a fast pivot on my left foot. Lifting my right foot up so I could fully turn to face the man head on before the spear was in motion. I decided on a duck so as soon as any movement was in motion I noticed the movement of the arms and thought it was going up. So I crouched down fast. pushing my head forward and bending my knees hard and my head would duck forward. Pulling my sheild hard and fast down to my crouch so my head could lean forward like this. So my shield was covering my knees and the spear would hit my shield. I did not expect that
I would take a fast step back and rise up back to standing fully as I stepped back a foot and my right hand thrust forward hard and fast aiming for the extended right arm to try and thrust into the hand.
Judge:
P1: Pivot to face him directly. You duck, natural position of the shield with additional downward force momentum. Your shield taking the blunt of the spear strike. Clean enough.
P2: Your attack is invalid due to time out. It however would have been out of range due to the 2/3rd hold on the spear at a 6' distance and the reach of your blade and arm.
(13:11:53 ) Clean
says to Nicanor Land of the Wago: I saw you crouch down, and as you rose back up, I would pull my right side back behind my left held shield, and turned it, angling the shield to catch the point of your sword upon the inside quadrant of the edge of the shield, while, I began to recock my arm, pulling my spear back, with my hand of course, that was the trick with a spear, dash and strike, recoil, dash and strike, recoil. Atleast that was my style...
.. I would take a few steps back from your position as, as I slid my hand back up the mid shaft, gripping my spear, knowing this would turn on the girls, but who had time for that right now, as I would, bring my right arm back, in a pendulum style motion, cocking my arm as I would plant my left foot, and drove my right foot forward, stepping now intowards you finishing my right foot at a distance of six feet away from you once more, in a perfectly direct straight forward thrust, with the full motion and momentum of my body transfered behind the thrust of my spear, I aimed to drive the gorean spear through the face of your shield fully, and into your arm behind it, directly where your wrist/forearm would be on the backside of your shield. The blade tip, aimed vertical for a wide cut, who knows maybe even getting lucky and removing your hand from your arm, through the shield...
Judge:
P1: To be honest you need to be glad he was 1) out of range and 2) Timed out. This could have been done without the shield. You could have cocked the arm back as he raised to his feet, the distance now at 7'.
P2: You were already at 6 feet with your right foot lead his attack was invalid so the distance was already 6' as you stated. I do not see why you would step back and then step forward again, that is a great deal of time wasted. You could have stepped back in the defense with your right side, then stepped in once again for your attack. Either way attack works.
(13:17:33 ) Clean
says to |... Lobo of Thassa ...|: You was aiming right for the shield. So I would twist my left wrist to my left slightly to angle the shield at a 45% angle and then push move to my left a foot and the moment the shield touched a foot to my rightof my hand as I moved my sheild it would not hid where my hand was. I would open the shield like a door to my left trying to push the spear to my left so the spear did not puncher the shield
This would hoefully give me a opening so I would step forward hard and fast three foot toward and to my right to get closer to you and my right hand would lift up and thrust forward and up aiming the tip of the sword for your mouth hard and fast jab.
Judge:
P1: I will freely admit that I have very little experience with this shield. So after talking to you about this I have a slightly better feel for the defensive capabilities of the shield. You start out at a 45 degree angle so your shields right most edge is forward, I would have preferred a slightly more aggressive angle. Your shield has already taken a thrust of the spear, so it is damaged on the surface as is. The angle here previously stated would do well enough to deflect but still take a nice chunk out of the face of your shield. However defense is clean.
P2: Step forward to be 3' away and thrust for his mouth, easily defended but works.
(13:25:17 ) Clean but barely
says to Nicanor Land of the Wago: .. I would simply, release the shaft of the spear with my left hand, I was done with the weapon, and as I saw your steps and would bring my left held shield up infront of my face, I would step forward with my left foot, changing the angle of my shield, covering quickly, letting your sword strike the top quadrant of my shield, and with luck deflecting it up. For the moment I could not see you, but that was okay, this was following my plans so to speak, my right hand moving to the inside of my shield as I would take a firm grip of the gorean short sword there, and pulled down with the blade, freeing it from its sheath, in that simple pull down, my left held shield at high height covering my face still, and now my right held short sword, held low, with the blade of weapon horizontal with the ground, my wrist and arm at a ninety degree angle to each other, I would simply step into you, closing all distance down, so that my shield was pressed against your own, 'open door' and out of position, bracing and driving my shield right up against your body, not to injure but to distract, all three feet of it, using it as a wall to hide my actions..
.. I would drive my right held blade between your legs at knee level, the angle of my body, and the left step I took, giving me a greater reach lower down with my right, I would jerk my blade in a backwards motion aiming to lacerate deeply into your inside left leg, or to remove it completely from your just below your knee...
Judge:
P1: This is another L/R error. You have the spear in your right hand not your left. There is a ton going on here. You release the spear, you lift the shield to cover even your eyes, then you step in and draw your weapon and then shove your shield against his chest with his open door shield. I don't like that this is all in your counter, however it's accepted as what you did.
P2: Downward strike, horizontal slash to left inner leg. I don't see this as taking off the leg completely, not without a powerful strike. It would bury the sword into the bone however.
(13:31:41 )
says to |... Lobo of Thassa ...|: Counter attack:
I would not back off this time. I would close hard and fast trying to press my body into yours and I kept moving forward pushing into you. My left hand would move forward and to my right trying to get around you and closing back like a door trying to pin the shield outer edge to your back like a huge trying to stop you going anywhere as my right hand now deflected high moved in that movement up and to my right and my right wrist angled down trying to angle behind you and your shield as I thrust hard and fast down trying to tryst my sword into the back point of your spine in a brutal attack not caring if you cut my leg abit..
Judge:
C/A: Sacrifice!
Unfortunately I see with his shield against your chest, and then raising the blade to be held vertically – when he raises his shield to be a foot higher than the top of his helm and he is 2 inches taller than you, that you would not be able to get any force into the attack, or the downwards angle needed to get to his back. Because his shields top rim would have been blocking your arm from extending forward. Even with his defense this downward strike would hit first, additionally his shield tipping back would strike your hilt, etc and protect enough behind him that you would be thrown off by the strike and the shield.
Damage: Very deep muscle cut across your inner left leg. Not nearly what he had intended.
(13:37:25 )
says to Nicanor Land of the Wago: .. I would keep my left held shield high, forcing it higher over my head, while dropping my right knee into the sand, giving my left held shield room to cover twelve inches over my helmet, and angled the face at a forty five degree, giving your sword blade the top portion of my shield to just saw at the bronze wrapped edge or the face of my shield ..
